You gave us eyes to see the mountain
and vision to see beyond the range.
You gave us ears to hear the music,
an imagination to know a composer's heart.
You gave us tongue to make needs known
and words of power to affect the masses.
You gave us brains to create great things
and minds to harness their course.
You gave us air that we might breathe
and the freedom to poison it.
You gave us vast spaces to roam
and a will to pack them full.
Oh would that you had given us
the will to get along.
