Sharing Memories with Grandpa Jim

Welcome! Lots of people call me Grandpa Jim, even our great grandchildren. I started this blog because I enjoy sharing memories, yours and mine. It's a forum for all who get a kick out of remembering something. The sharings we do in print are called memoirs. (One does not have to be famous to write one, and memoirs do not have to be life stories. Single recollections do just fine.)

Grandpa Jim or GJ: Retired teacher and adjunct professor of speech, composition, U.S. Literature, drama, and debate on HS, community college and university levels. (Counting his own education, has spent over 60 years in the classroom.) Served as signalman, U.S. Navy Amphibious Forces in WWII. Married for 61 years, father of two, grandfather to four, and great grandfather to eight. National gold medalist in back-to-back mini-golf tournaments, senior division. A surrogate grandpa to dozens since 1990.
